The term ‘end client’ refers to the person or organisation that requires a translation to be carried out. As such, they will either contact their internal translation service or freelance translators, or place an order with a translation company.

These end clients tend to fit different profiles. Some of them will not be familiar at all with the work involved in a translation project. They might therefore require a relatively high level of support, particularly in the case of projects that are more technical in nature. In effect, as experts themselves in their field, they will recognise the need to call upon experts in an area with which they are unfamiliar: that of translation.
