Aside from the feature that recovers existing translations, translation memory tools also help to ensure consistency within a given text, between different translation projects and also between translators and even revisers. It is generally possible for translators to export the contents of their translation memory databases in order to share them and ensure that the same terminology is used, irrespective of the type of CAT tool used. The majority of these tools also have a concordance feature allowing the translator to search for specific terms and display the results in context.
